Uttarakhand formerly known as Uttaranchal is a state in the northern part of India. It is often referred to as the "Devabhumi" (literally "Land of the Gods") due to numerous Hindu temples and pilgrimage centres found throughout the state. Uttarakhand is known for the natural environment of the Himalayas, the Bhabar and the Terai regions. It borders the Tibet Autonomous Region of China to the north; the Sudurpashchim Pradesh of Nepal to the east; the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh to the south and Himachal Pradesh to the west and north-west. The state is divided into two divisions, Garhwal and Kumaon, with a total of 13 districts. The winter capital of Uttarakhand is Dehradun, the largest city of the state, which is a rail head. Gairsain, a town in Chamoli district is the summer capital of Uttarakhand. The High Court of the state is located in Nainital.

Cuisine of Uttarakhand

Kafuli is popularly known as the State Food of Uttarakhand. It is served with the gravy made out of the paste of rice or wheat and water. Main Ingredients: Spinach Leaves, Fenugreek Leaves, Spices, Rice Powder, Curd, Water and Salt

Rishikesh

Rishikesh is a city in India’s northern state of Uttarakhand, in the Himalayan foothills beside the Ganges River. The river is considered holy, and the city is renowned as a center for studying yoga and meditation. Temples and ashrams (centers for spiritual studies) line the eastern bank around Swarg Ashram, a traffic-free, alcohol-free and vegetarian enclave upstream from Rishikesh town.

At the confluence of 3 rivers, the Triveni Ghat is regarded as a sacred bathing spot for spiritual cleansing. A fire ritual known as ganga aarti is performed there nightly, where oil lamps are floated downstream. Upstream, the pedestrian-only iron suspension bridges, Lakshman Jhula and Ram Jhula, join the banks of the river around Swarg Ashram. The elaborate, 13-story Trayambakeshwar temple stands by the Lakshman Jhula bridge. Numerous ashrams offer yoga courses, and local companies arrange trekking tours into the mountains, kayaking and white-water rafting trips.

Nainital

Nainital is a Himalayan resort town in the Kumaon region of India’s Uttarakhand state, at an elevation of roughly 2,000m. Formerly a British hill station, it’s set around Nainital Lake, a popular boating site with Naina Devi Hindu Temple on its north shore. A cable car runs to Snow View observation point (at 2,270m), with vistas over the town and mountains including Nanda Devi, Uttarakhand’s highest peak.

Naina Peak, at 2,600m, is within hiking distance. back in town, Bara Bazaar is a popular shopping destination. South of downtown Nainital is Raj Bhawan, a Victorian-era governmental manor offering tours of its grounds, plus a public golf course. Elsewhere in the region, forested Jim Corbett National Park is a reserve for endangered Bengal tigers and other native wildlife. Naukuchiatal (9-Cornered Lake) and Sattal (7 Lakes) are rustic locales for boating and fishing

Auli

Auli is a Himalayan ski resort and hill station in the north Indian state of Uttarakhand. It’s surrounded by coniferous and oak forests, plus the Nanda Devi and Nar Parvat mountains. A long cable car links Auli to the town of Joshimath. North of Auli are the colorful Badrinath Temple, a Hindu pilgrimage site, and the Valley of Flowers National Park, with its alpine flora and wildlife like snow leopards and red foxes.

Jim Corbett National Park

Jim Corbett National Park is a forested wildlife sanctuary in northern India’s Uttarakhand State. Rich in flora and fauna, it’s known for its Bengal tigers. Animals, including tigers, leopards and wild elephants, roam the Dhikala zone. On the banks of the Ramganga Reservoir, the Sonanadi zone is home to elephants and leopards, along with hundreds of species of birds.

Mussoorie

Mussoorie is a hill station and a municipal board in the Dehradun District of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is about 35 kilometres from the state capital of Dehradun and 290 km north of the national capital of New Delhi. The hill station is in the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan range. The adjoining town of Landour, which includes a military cantonment, is considered part of 'greater Mussoorie', as are the townships of Barlowganj and Jharipani. The pin code for Mussoorie is 248179. Mussoorie is at an average altitude of 2,005 metres. To the northeast are the Himalayan snow ranges, and to the south, the Doon Valley and Shiwalik ranges. The second highest point is the original Lal Tibba in Landour, with a height of over 2,275 metres. Mussoorie is popularly known as The Queen of the Hills

Haridwar

Haridwar is an ancient city and important Hindu pilgrimage site in North India's Uttarakhand state, where the River Ganges exits the Himalayan foothills. The largest of several sacred ghats (bathing steps), Har Ki Pauri hosts a nightly Ganga Aarti (river-worshipping ceremony) in which tiny flickering lamps are floated off the steps. Worshipers fill the city during major festivals including the annual Kanwar Mela.

Accessible by cable car or steps, the ornate hilltop temples of Mansa Devi and Chandi Devi offer panoramic views of the plains from opposite sides of the Ganges. Another important pilgrimage temple is Maya Devi by Birla Ghat. Daksheswara Mahadev Temple lies amid havelis (mansions), sacred ashrams and an ancient banyan tree just south of Haridwar in the town of Kankhal. Near Haridwar, Rajaji National Park in the Shivalik Hills offers jungle safaris to see tigers, elephants, leopards and more than 300 species of birds, plus rafting on the River Ganges

Dehradun

Dehradun is the capital of the Indian state of Uttarakhand, near the Himalayan foothills. At its core is the 6-sided Ghanta Ghar clock tower. To the southwest is Paltan Bazaar, a busy shopping area. Just east is the Sikh temple Gurdwara Nanaksar, topped with ornate white and golden domes. In Clement Town to the city’s southwest, Mindrolling Monastery is a Tibetan Buddhist center with shrine rooms in its Great Stupa.

In the city’s northwest, the over-100-year-old Forest Research Institute contains a large museum with sections including pathology and timber. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, nearby Tapkeshwar Mandir is a Hindu temple on the Asan River attracting many pilgrims, especially to its sacred cave. Farther northeast, a cold river stream flows through a natural cave formation known as Robber’s Cave (also called “Guchupani”). Northeast of the cave, deer and Indian antelope roam Malsi Deer Park, a popular picnic spot

Ranikhet

Ranikhet is a hill station in Uttarakhand State, northern India. It’s known for its views of the Himalayas. Hundreds of bells adorn Jhula Devi Temple, dedicated to the Hindu goddess Durga. Fruit trees grow on the terraced orchards of Chaubatia Gardens, with views of peaks including Nanda Devi. Mahatma Gandhi stayed in a hut, Gandhi Kuti, in nearby Tarikhet village during the independence struggle

Badrinath

Badrinath is a holy town and a nagar panchayat in Chamoli district in the state of Uttarakhand, India. It is one of the four sites in India's Char Dham pilgrimage and gets its name from the temple of Badrinath.

Kedarnath

Kedarnath is a town in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, which has gained importance because of Kedarnath Temple. It is a Nagar Panchayat in Chamoli district. The most remote of the four Chota Char Dham sites, Kedarnath is located in the Himalayas, about 3,583 m above sea level. Situated near the arun Glacier, the source of the Mandakini river river, it is flanked by snow-capped peaks, notably Kedarnath mountain. The nearest road head is at Gaurikund about 19kms away. The town suffered extensive destruction during June 2013 from flash floods caused by torrential rains in mandakini river

Gangotri

Gangotri is a town and a Nagar Panchayat in Uttarkashi district in the state of Uttarakhand, India. It is a Hindu pilgrim town on the banks of the river Bhagirathi and origin of River Ganges. It is on the Greater Himalayan Range, at a height of 3,100 metres. According to popular Hindu legend, it was here that Goddess Ganga descended when Lord Shiva released the mighty river from the locks of his hair

Binsar

Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary is an Indian wildlife sanctuary

Binsar was the summer capital of the Chand Kings, who ruled over Kumaon from the 11th to 18th centuries AD. Binsar was established in 1988 for the conservation and protection of the shrinking broad leaf oak (Quercus) forests of the Central Himalayan region, and it has over 200 bird species.

Bhimtal

Bhimtal is a town and a nagar panchayat in Nainital district in the state of Uttarakhand, India. It is situated at an altitude of 1370 meters above sea level and is about 22 kilometers from Nainital. The major attraction in Bhimtal is the Bhimtal Lake, which has an island at its centre. Besides tourism, Bhimtal has also now become a mini district headquarters since most of the district administration offices have been shifted to the newly constructed Vikas Bhawan, the building complex for district administrative offices.

Day 02 : Mussoorie Sightseeing 

  • Today post breakfast visit the local sightseeing places.

  • Commence your city tour with Gun Hill, a curious flat-topped hill is the second highest peak of Mussoorie. You can reach it on foot or on a pony by a bridle path from the Mall.Alternatively a 400 metre ropeway takes you up to the hilltop on a scintillating journey with great views. From the hilltop you get to see some of the more prominent peaks including Banderpunch, Srikanth, Pithwara and the Gangotri group. In colonial times, a gun placed on the summit used to fire at mid-day for locals to adjust their watches.

  • Visit the Camel's Back road, a 3-km road encircling the base of Gun Hill is also a good place to view the breathtaking Himalayan sunset. Named after a nearby rock formation that looks like a camel's back, a walk or pony ride along this road yields the sights of Snow Mountains.

  • Later visit Clouds End, the English chateau built in 1838 and one of the first buildings to come up in Mussoorie is tucked away about 8 kms from the Library. Now converted into a holiday resort, the house is surrounded by dense forests and views of snow peaks and the River Yamuna.

  • Evening a stroll on the Mall road for souvenir shopping.

Day 03 : Mussoorie to Rishikesh

  • Visiting the Naina Devi Temple and Hanuman Garhi, enjoy a boat ride on the Naini Lake (boats can be hired directly), Himalayan Zoo, take the rope way to enjoy the best view of snowcapped peaks (on direct payment basis)

Day 08 : Nanital to Binsar

  • After Breakfast proceed to Binsar

  • Arrival in Binsar & Proceed to the Hotel for Check-In

  • The rest of the evening is at leisure for Independent activities.

Day 09 : Binsar Local Sightseeing        

  • After breakfast, you can proceed for optional Binsar sightseeing like Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary, Bineshwar Temple, Kasardevi Temple

Day 10 : Binsar to Kausani

  • Today post breakfast, check out from hotel then get transferred to Kausani

  • An idyllic Himalayan hamlet Located at about 6000+ ft above sea level. Kausani enjoys best Himalayan views in the region and is a destination that connects Kumaon region to Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. On arrival check in at Hotel, proceed for an excursion to Baijnath, Lying in the Katyuri valley, 19 km away from Kausani

  • One of the most important places to visit in Baijnath is the historically and religiously significant Baijnath Temple constructed in the twelfth century

  • The temple holds significance because, according to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva and Parvati were married at the confluence of River Gomati and Garur Ganga, lunch at a good restaurant in the city

  • Later Visit Anasakti Ashram, It was here that Mahatma Gandhi spent a few days of his life and has been converted into a memorial. The views from the Ashram are breathtakingly beautiful and the ambiance is very peaceful

  • Overnight Stay in Kausani

Day 11 : Kausani to Jim Corbett

  • Today post breakfast, check out from hotel and proceed to Corbett National Park

  • Check in to the wildlife resort

  • Rest of the day free at leisure for individual activities

Day 12 : Jim Corbett

  • This Afternoon go for wildlife safari to the park and explore the exotic wildlife and flora & fauna. (For the Jungle Safari Permit, the client will have to book the same online on direct basis)

  • Later in the evening visit Garjia Temple along with river Kosi.

  • Have a sumptuous Dinner at the resort

Day 13 : Jim Corbett to Delhi

  • After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive towards Delhi

  • Cab driver will Drop you at Delhi Airport/Railway Station to Catch Onwards Train /Flights & Back to home with sweet memories.
